'Halving and doubling. What to do eg 8x2 this is 4x4. Easy right?' XW

'The halving and doubling strategy is helpful when you come across 5x14. What you do is double the 5 to 10 and halve the 14 to 7. Your life is easier.' BMO

'The Halving and doubling strategy is easy. All you do is halve one number and double the other eg. 10x7= you go 5x14 How easy is that? I halved the 10 and doubled the 7. Now you parents can use that for your kids.' JC

'Halving and Doubling 3x14 double the 3 to 6 and halve the 14 to get 7. 6x7 is 42.' BMC

'The halving and doubling strategy is an easy way of working out times table equations. This is an example of how you use it: 14x4= something. You halve the 14 which is 7 and now double the 4 which is 8 so combine them together and it is 7x8=56.' JO

The 5 members of the Crunchies maths group had 5 equations Miss O'B gave them. Check out our stunning results and see the progress we have made at using this strategy...
